Fabrication

Steel fabrication is not just another type of manufacturing. Fabrication encompasses a wide variety of processes, such as stamping, cutting, bending, forming, laser cutting and welding. The Fabrication phase of the MSI Method is managed through the use of Fabtrol MRP software, which allows us to perform production control as well as aid in the automation of numerous affiliated processes.

To begin the Fabrication phase, the assigned Project Manager and Production Planner create a fabrication plan specific to each project. The plan includes the sequencing, nesting, procurement, processing, cutting and fabrication of raw steel.

Upon delivery of the steel shapes, our fabrication shop executes planned processing and cutting of raw steel pieces to length, drills and punches holes through the use of CNC beam lines, and completes beveling with its CNC machinery and automated burning equipment. We then fabricate fittings and complete welding as well as inspect each finished piece.

We utilize quality assurance processes to inspect weld seams, which significantly reduces costs, fabrication hours, and the likelihood of structural defects. After the completion of processing to Client specifications, finished pieces are loaded for shipment to the construction site.
