Erection

The Erection phase of the MSI Method typically consists of the pre-assembly of steel component parts at the project site, the lifting of components by crane to the appropriate location at the site, and the final assembly of major components to form the steel backbone of the project.  MSI employs erection personnel and satisfies additional demands through the use of subcontractors.  Experienced Field Supervisors manage the erection process for each project.

First, the Project Manager and a Detailer establish an erection plan outlining the critical sequences for materials to be delivered and the erection of each fabricated steel member.  This plan is jointly managed and subject to change at any time by the Client.

Secondly, the Field Supervisor and Client conduct on-site quality assurance.  The Field Supervisor inspects the materials, making sure that all products have been delivered and fabrication accuracy.  The Client then validates the Field Supervisor’s inspection prior to erection.

Thirdly, the crews erect the fabricated steel components in accordance with erection drawings prepared and updated by our detailers. Once the drawings have been authorized, they are used to guide the steel erection on the construction site as to where and how to erect the fabricated steel members. Inspection of materials delivered.

Finally, Midsouth and the Client approve the itemized close-out list outlined in the overall project plan.  The joint approval of the close-out list ensures the successful completion of the project.
